There are myriad interpretations or mythos for this goddess - most of them wildly conflicting and some discrediting the others. The most commonly known or popularly held belief is that she was born of the earth with Adam - his first wife. She demanded equality with him and when he refused she left the garden and fled to the caves of the Red Sea. There she bred with demons and bore thousands of children. God then sent three of his angels to return her to Adam - when she refused, prefering independance, the angels stated they would kill 100 of her children for every day she stayed apart. In retribution for this she claimed vengance and swore she would kill the children of Adam.

Even though most of the Lilith legend is derived from Jewish folklore, descriptions of the Lilith demon appear in Iranian, Babylonian, Mexican, Greek, Arab, English, German, Oriental and Native American legends. Also, she sometimes has been associated with legendary and mythological characters such as the Queen of Sheba and Helen of Troy. In medieval Europe she was proclaimed to be the wife, concubine or grandmother of Satan. Truly a goddess of all the world.

Never a comfortable goddess she is not - in all ways - evil. She also encompasses a true determination to hold to what she believes, regardless of costs - the first truly "independant" woman and fiercely determined to maintain that independance.

Lilith's 'dress' is a completely hand sewn body suit and two paneled skirt of red velvet, created from a hand drafted pattern trimmed in gold and more velvet.

Lilith's face has been lightly re-sculpted and given a complete makeover with artist quality acrylic paints and sealer.

Neither Her bat winged sword nor Her knife are toys - they are hand ground high carbon steel and ARE sharp! The weapons and her stand were hand made by VKW. (please see our "about me" page for more on VKW!)
